You’re
a cat
now, so time
for destruction.
Fun!
Swipe,
smack, shove;
knock over
as much as you
can.
It’s
pretty
silly, and
I love it a
lot.
You’re
a cat!
What more could
you want from a
game?
(Poetic form: lanterne. Initial drafts of this were in haiku form but no one could agree on how many syllables “everything” is, so instead I decided to write a lanterne (or four) whilst vowing never to use “everything” in a syllable-based poem. General consensus is that, in regular speech, it’s 3, but drawn out, it’s 4. A friend suggested going for “ev’rything” but I just went “this is already a lot effort and thought for a poem about pretending to be a cat and wrecking stuff! Apostrophes are going too far!”)
